Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana, says there is need to equip ZANIS with vehicles to enable the department to disseminate information on government programmes and projects to the public.
Mr Kawana said the Ministry will continue lobbying for more vehicles for ZANIS to help the department have adequate transport.
He observed that if ZANIS is deprived of vehicles, people will not know what government is doing on the ground, hence the need for the districts to be equipped with transport.
Speaking when he toured ZANIS upcoming studio at the Copperbelt Province Office in Ndola, Mr Kawana said the media platform stands as a mouthpiece between the people and government.
He further said the ministry is ensuring that more officers are deployed and equipped with the required tools for easy flow of information through ZANIS TV.
He added that ZANIS is the best platform to showcase how the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) is being utilised in various districts across the country.
And Copperbelt Province Information Officer, Himweela Mooya, said the main aim of establishing the studio is to share people’s views on how they are benefiting from various projects in the country as well as disseminate information on what the government is doing.
