165 cooperatives and groups in Mufulira Central Constituency have received grants under the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) empowerment Grants.

Acting Mufulira District Commissioner, Zakeyo Kamanga, distributed a total of Two million, Three Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand, Six Hundred Kwacha (K2, 325,600) meant to enable beneficiaries start various income generating activities.

ZANIS reports that Mr Kamanga stated that the grants demonstrate the government’s commitment to foster economic growth and prosperity in the district.

“We firmly believe that empowered individuals are key drivers of social and economic change, and it is our duty to support and nurture them, “he said.

And Mufulira Central Constituency Member of Parliament Golden Mwila, cautioned recipients against succumbing to corruption.

“You got these grants on merit and no one should demand an inducement from you, “Mr Mwila said.

He encouraged recipients to work hard and establish their planned businesses.
