President Hakainde Hichilema is tomorrow expected in Central Province to attend the burial of chief Kanyesha of the Lala-Swaka people of Luano district.
According to Central Province Minister Mwabashike Nkulukusa, the Head of state is scheduled to arrive at Lumonso palace grounds at 10: 00 hours where part of the burial procession will take place.
Mr Nkulukusa says President Hichilema is scheduled to commiserate with the people of Kanyesha chiefdom and other traditional leaders.
He states that according to the Lala-Swaka customs and traditions, the actual burial will be handled by the family and the royal establishment stressing that the Head of State is scheduled to return to Lusaka immediately after the procession at the palace grounds.
And Mr Nkulukusa has appealed to the Kanyesha royal establishment to avoid succession disputes saying they are detrimental to development and social cohesion.
He states that succession disputes may delay the installation of a successor which he notes may derail the implementation of developmental programs.
