Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary-Technical Services Joel Kamoko says government is committed to advancing the education sector in the country.
In an exclusive interview with ZANIS, the Permanent Secretary notes that government is resolute to growing the education sector as realized from the 2025 budget where K150 million has been set aside to implement the new national curriculum.
ZANIS reports that Mr Kamoko disclosed that the new curriculum for Primary and ECE will be tested in the January 2025 school year.
“As you know the curriculum has been approved, validated and signed by the President, so we mean business,” he said.
He appreciated that government always sets aside a huge chunk for education in the country which has prompted Zambians to go back to school through government’s free education policy.
Later, he added that the increment of the 2025 budget where the CDF has been increased from K30.6 million to K36.1 million will continue to be a game changer in the education sector especially in rural areas.
“For me CDF has been a game changer as it has made possible the construction of thousands of schools in the country,” he said.
