Kasama District Electoral Officer, Moses Mwelwa says there is need for stakeholders to participate in the upcoming electoral reforms scheduled for October 12th to 14th 2024.
Mr. Mwelwa says the reforms are non-partisan, and should encourage a general response from all sectors of the community.
Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kasama today, Mr Mwelwa explained that the goal of the reforms is to gather submissions on legal, procedural, and policy issues that impact on elections.
The electral reforms team will be traveling throughout the country to get feedback on various aspects of the electoral process, with the view to identify gaps in current laws and policies.
“This is a crucial opportunity for stakeholders to voice their concerns and suggestions, and call upon everyone to take part air their views, its an opportunity to ensure that what need is in the electoral process,” Mr. Mwelwa stated.
He urged everyone to engage in the process, which is intended to create a more transparent and effective electoral system.
