Zambia Army Commander Lieutenant General Geoffrey Zyeele says there are a group of illegal immigrants and ex-convicts moving in regalia causing chaos in barracks and communities hence the need for the command to thoroughly investigate the matter.
Speaking when he called on Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo, Lieutenant General Zyeele said it is not only the illegal immigrants that have been causing chaos in the country but also ex-convicts hence the need to find out the motives behind.
The Army Commander says the team is on the Copperbelt to ensure that peace and order is maintained, following the attack that took place in Mufulira by some intruders.
He says the economy cannot flourish when there is chaos amongst the business people.
He notes that he will continue reminding the Provincial Joint Operation Committee to make sure there is adequate security, in order for peace to reign in the province.
He says the military team is not taking any misconduct lightly.
Lieutenant General Zyeele has warned the residents to stop wearing military regalia saying the act is causing chaos in the community.
And Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo has commended the military force for taking keen interest in matters affecting the residents and the province at large.
He says this shows how government is committed to creating a conducive environment for the Copperbelt people.
