A fifty-five years old man has been allegedly murdered by unknown people in Sinazongwe District 

Moffat Siamaili, was shot dead using an unknown firearm on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, around 20:00hours in Vwavwa village.

Southern Province Police Commissioner, Auxentio Daka confirmed to ZANIS in Sinazongwe that the deceased was allegedly murdered for being suspected to have been practicing witchcraft.

Mr Daka said the deceased sustained several punch wounds on the left side of his stomach adding that the body has since been deposited at Maamba General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

He explained that Police visited the crime scene where the deceased was found lying on the ground facing downwards in a pool of blood.

He further said the body was picked from the path along his maize field 50 meters away from his grass-thatched house.

Mr Daka added that Police conducted a search for clues but found nothing to assist with investigations as the scene had many onlookers.

He however, said investigations into the matter have continued.
