President Hakainde Hichilema has appealed to the people of Chifunabuli to take all children to school.
President Hichilema says government has provided free education, hence, no child should spend time on the lake fishing while their education suffers.
The Head of State was speaking when he landed at Chifunabuli Boys Primary School grounds in Chifunabuli district for the Ukwanga Traditional Ceremony of the Ng’umbo people today.
“We have a plan for the fishermen and the fishing industry, so I appeal to you parents that don’t send your children to the lake to fish, let them be in class and learn,” he said.
Mr Hichilema said government’s agenda is to build more classroom blocks for the young people.
The President also assured the people of Chifunabuli of working on the Musaila-Chifunabuli road whose works had been stored for years.
Meanwhile, Luapula Province Minister Njavwa Simutowe noted that the people of Luapula are seeing the development projects under the UPND government.
“Our chiefs are filled with happiness for your concern for all Zambians. They are proud of you, your excellency and the projects being done by your government,” said Mr Simutowe.
He said government will ensure it delivers on its many developmental projects being done in the province.
