President Hakainde Hichilema is tomorrow ,October 20th, 2024— expected to join the Lala and Swaka people as they celebrate Chiwela Munshi Traditional Ceremony , in chief Shaibila’s area in Mkushi district, Central Province.
Provincial Minister, Mwabashike Nkulukusa, has announced the President’s visit to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS).
Mr Nkulukusa said the President will upon landing pay a courtesy call on 19 Central Province Traditional Leaders.
He stated that Mr Hichilema will later join the cultural event where the Lala and Swaka people celebrate their return from crop fields where they camp from the time of cultivation till the harvest period.
Mr Nkulukusa said President Hichilema’s attendance of traditional ceremonies signifies the promotion of unity and cultural heritage among diverse ethnic groupings across the country.
He said Mr Hichilema will also interact with the local people before he returns to Lusaka.
