The three day Japanese Ambassador’s Karate Tournament concluded this afternoon with multiple Karateka’s in various categories.
The event which was sponsored by the Japanese Embassy drew participation from participants from Zambia, Zimbabwe and Japan.
ZANIS reports that speaking during the closing ceremony, Ministry of Sports, Youth and Arts Permanent Secretary for Arts, Chama Fumba, noted that sporting activities help to promote personal growth, skills development and community engagement.
Fumba added that the tournament speaks to the long standing relationship between Zambia and Japan.
Speaking at the same event, Japanese Ambassador to Zambia, Takeuchi Kazuyuki, congratulated the winners and committed the Embassy’s continued support to sports in Zambia
