Rufunsa District Agricultural Coordinator (DACO), John Lungu, says the distribution of farming Inputs under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) targeting 12,142 small scale farmers is progressing well.
Mr Lungu says out of the 152 Agro dealers who were engaged by government, 70 have positioned themselves in strategic areas across the district.
Speaking in an interview with ZANIS, Mr Lungu further said 5,850 out of the targeted farmers who will benefit from the 2024/2025 FISP programme, have received their Authority to Deposit (ATDs).
He added that government has made things easy for the farmers to deposit the K400 upfront as bank agents have been stationed at his office.
And one of the farmers, Ohelena Hankoma commended government for the FISP programme and bringing the bank agents closer to them.
