Schools in Mbala District in Northern Province have recorded a good turnout in the ongoing grade 12 examinations.
A check by ZANIS in selected schools this morning revealed that 107 out of the 110 candidates who registered for the examinations were present.
And a check at Mbulu Day Secondary School discovered that all 56 registered candidates were present in the examination.
Mbala Day Secondary School Head teacher, Kenneth Kalumbi has attributed the good turnout to the free education policy by the government.
Mr Kalumbi, who is also Mbala Secondary School Examination Centre Chairperson, said the school used to fail to pay user fees, hence missing out on exams.
And Mbulu Day Secondary School Head teacher, Able Siwale, said the introduction of free education has enabled pupils to write exams without hindrances.
