Zambeef commits to enhancing cattle disease control

Zambeef Products Plc  has reaffirmed its commitment to supplementing Government’s efforts In  enhancing Disease Control in Namwala District in Southern province  and the Country at large,

Zambeef Products  Corporate Affairs Manager, Mwamba Siame, says that the company recently supported small-scale farmers in Namwala District with over 80 liters of cattle dip targeting over 30,000 herds of cattle.

Ms Siame stated that the Company is also committed to supplement Governments efforts in mitigating the effects caused by the 2023-2024 farming season in early or winter maize production.

She pointed out that over 20,000 metric tonnes of winter maize has been produced at Zambeef’s Mpongwe and Chiawa farms to mitigate the effects of climate change through crop production using irrigation methods.

Ms Siame further stated that the company will  continue engaging small scale livestock farmers to interact and find solutions on best practices to rear animals which produce quality beef products.

She added that Zambeef Products Plc attaches great importance to traditional ceremonies like the Shikumpa traditional ceremony of the ila people of Mukobela Chiefdom of Namwala which promote the aspect of promoting wealth creation through cattle rearing .
