Police in Choma launches a manhunt for UNO security guard

The Police in Choma District of Southern Province have launched a manhunt for a security guard working for Line Watch Security Company in connection with an aggravated robbery involving over K3, 000. 

According to a press statement availed to ZANIS in Choma by Southern Province Police Commissioner, Auxensio Daka, Kelvin Mudenda, a security guard manning UNO Filling Station, robbed two female fuel attendants from the same station at gunpoint, getting away with K3, 089.

Mr Daka indicated that the incident happened on November 4, 2024, between 05: 00 and 05: 30 hours at UNO Filling Station along the Lusaka – Livingstone road.

He identified the two female fuel attendants as Sifuya Blessed, 21, of Kumunza compound, and Mwiinga Rabecca aged 20 of Shampande compound in Choma District.

Mr Daka stated that after getting the money, the culprit ran away and later dumped the company firearm, a short gun scout SB bearing serial numbers 1196964 loaded with one round of ammunition behind UNO filling station, which was later picked up by Choma Zambia Police Mobile unit.

He said the matter was reported to the police by Choma UNO Filling Station Manager, Mulenga Sichone.

The police have since started investigations.
