Failed school project gets new contractor

Mwandi Town Council Chairperson, Mike Lubasi has apologized to the people of Namuzinga community for the unplanned delay to build and deliver a one by two classroom block on time.

Mr Lubasi has however, expressed confidence that the new contractor engaged to complete the project will deliver quality work timely and encouraged the community members to be cooperative as the project will also provide job opportunities.

He was speaking during the introduction of the new contractor that has mobilised at the project site,and indicated that the delay was a result of a failed contractor who abandoned the structure at slab level and later the project was re-advertised.

He added that the project is expected to be completed by the end of January, 2025.

And Lutaba ward councilor, Kanenga Sikanenga said the engineers have already assessed the structure and have approved that the construction be continued by first rectifying any inconsistencies.

Meanwhile Namuzinga Primary School Head Teacher, Mwepi Imutandi expressed hope that once completed the 1×2 classroom block will add beauty to the school and increase learning space for quality education.
