Ndola District Senior Agricultural Officer has urged farmers to prepare land and plant their crops before November 25, 2024.

Ms Zeniya Chitema who was speaking when she featured on a ZANIS programme dubbed the Lens in Ndola said that farmers need to be climate smart by preparing and planting early for a better yield.

She urged farmers to adapt to the present change in weather pattern further advising farmers to adopt conservation land preparation method which will favour their seeds in case of changes in weather pattern.

And Ministry of Agriculture Ndola Senior Field Crop Officer Michael Mumbi has also appealed to farmers to avoid burning of crop residues during this year’s cultivation as it robs the soil components that allows the seeds to germinate in an healthy environment.
