Western Province Assistant Secretary, Allan Simakando has commended Smart Zambia for introducing the Electronic Government service portal training for human resource officers in the area.
Mr Simakando says that the training on Electronic Government service portal will improve service delivery and overcome pay- slip delayment challenges in the province.
Speaking when a team from Electronic Government Division Headquarters paid a courtesy call on him, Mr Simakando expressed gratitude to the team, stressing the need and importance of keeping records electronically as it ensures safety of documents.
“Keeping records or documents electronically is the best as it keeps the documents safe and secure such that one can just log into the system and retrieve or get a document they want at any particular time”, he noted.
Mr Simakando further urged the team to carry out an impact assessment after the training to check if the trained officers have understood and acquired the needed skills so that pay slip related issues will not pose any challenge in any district of the province.
Electronic Government Division’s Service Management Assistant Director, Valentine Chitambala disclosed that the training is a national wide exercise of training human resource as well information communication technology officers aimed at improving the system.
“The exercise we are doing is a national one, for the past few months beginning from June, this year, our import distribution has faced challenges here and there. In order to overcome those challenges, there is the upgraded system that we are rolling out through this exercise”, Mr Chitambala explained.
He assured the people in the province that the self-service portal is now operational hence they can check for their pay slips online.
