Acting Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Douglas Syakalima has sent a stern warning against cybercrime perpetrators portraying violent behaviors. 

Mr Syakalima says the country is known as a beacon of peace, a status that has been maintained by President Hakainde Hichilema and his government. 

ZANIS reports that the Minister was referring to a video of some youths of Kitwe who made threats of violence against President Hichilema on Tiktok.

Mr Syakalima has since condemned the behavior of the youths, adding that the trend needs to be stopped as it has the potential to instill fear in the citizens and also erode social moral and ethics among young people. 

He has assured that the Zambia Police will round up the perpetrators within the next 48 hours and enforce the Cyber Security Act provisions on them.

Mr Syakalima who is also Minister of Education made an appeal to Zambians to uphold the peace that the country is enjoying.
