SOUTHERN Province Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka says a 42 year old step father has allegedly defiled his 12 year old daughter of Zambia compound in Choma district.

Mr. Daka says his officers in Choma received a report from the victim’s mother Angela Munsaka aged 32 of choma south who reported that of her daughter, that she had been defiled by her step father Gibson kanyanyani old of the same house.

“The incident occurred on 19th November 2024 at around 23:15hrs in Zambia compound in which Angela Munsaka reported on behalf of her daughter that she had been sexually abused by her step father Gibson Kanyanyani aged 42 years old of the same abode,” he said.

Facts of the matter are that Gibson kanyanyani retired to bed at 22:00hrs with his wife.

During the night,the suspect requested to have sex with his wife who refused but due to pressure,he sneaked into his step daughter’s bedroom leaving his wife asleep.

But as mounted himself on the victim, his wife was awakened by her daughter’s screams in the other bedroom and upon checking she was shocked to see her husband busy sexually enjoying himself on her daughter.

Out of wrath, she got the nearest missile available, which in this case was a pan brick, which she struck her husband on his forehead and eventually sustained an injury on his right eyebrow.

“The suspect was detained and later taken to the hospital where he was medically attended and brought back into custody,” added Mr. Daka.

The victim sustained vaginal bruises and pain was issued a medical report and taken to Choma general hospital for medication.

Police have since issued the warn and caution statement to the suspect.

And investigations are ongoing.
