President Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia is available and ready to explore opportunities in the entertainment industry, with others worldwide.
The President said this at State House when American Comedian and television host Steve Harvey paid a courtesy call on him.
Mr Hichilema warmly welcomed Mr Harvey to Zambia and appreciated his efforts of bridging gaps in Africa’s Entertainment industry through capacity building and talent identification, especially among the young people.
ZANIS reports that Mr Hichilema further encouraged Mr Harvey to continue with his efforts of building young talent not only in America but now extending to the African continent.
And Minister of Tourism Rodney Sikumba says government’s resolve is to make Zambia a top tourism destination of choice through working with celebrities like Mr Steve Harvey.
Meanwhile, Mr Harvey said he is in the country to identify talent among young people and assist in the development of the entertainment industry as regards film and television business.
Mr Harvey said through his academy he has created programmes to impart skills to young people in the entertainment business.
He observed that there are still so many gaps in Africa’s entertainment industry and he is ready to collaborate with Africa and Zambia, in particular, to bridge the gaps.
