NON-GOVERNMENTAL Gender Organisations Coordinating Council (NGOCC) newly elected Board Chairperson Beauty Katebe has pledged to revamp the women’s movement in the country.

Ms Katebe said she’s committed to bringing back the women’s movement to life, noting that the movement hasn’t been as vibrant as it was in the past few years.

ZANIS reports that speaking during the closing ceremony for the NGOCC’s 23rd Annual General Meeting, which saw her victorious and chosen as Board Chairperson, Ms Katebe stated that she wants to address various challenges that women in the country continue to face.

And, Ms Katebe has thanked her predecessor Grace Sinkamba for the leadership and management role she put up during her tenure of office.

“I would like to thank the previous leadership and I will look into the strategic plan that is already in place in order to make amends and bridge the gender gap,” Ms Katebe said.

And Ms Sinkamba the incumbent has expressed willingness to work with the newly elected Chairperson in completing the ogranisation’s branding process, which is currently in process.
She said the collaborative approach is crucial in advancing the women’s movement, whose main objective is to promote gender equality.
