CHIMBWI RESIDENTS CALL FOR SPEEDY CONSTRUCTION OF THE CLINIC

RESIDENTS of Chimbwi Village in Lupososhi District have called on authorities to ensure works for the construction of Chimbwi Clinic are expedited.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS, Enoch Kapapa, noted with sadness that the construction of the health facility has taken too long.

Mr Kapapa has attributed the delay to the alleged incompetence on the part of the contractor who was engaged to do the work.

He said the works on the projects have been demolished twice on account of poor workmanship by the contractor, and wondered why a new contractor has not been brought to complete the works.

“The contractor started work some time back, but again demolished what was put up when it was just on slab level on account of poor workmanship.

“Again it was demolished that works were not done properly, until he finally abandoned works about a month ago, stating the lack of inadequate materials for use,” Mr Kapapa said.

And when contacted for a comment, Lupososhi District Commissioner, Simon Mwenya, said he was aware of the delays of the project.

Mr Mwenya has however promised to give feedback once he establishes the cause of the delay.
