GOVERNMENT has commissioned eight Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects in five wards in Mbala District Northern Province.
Mbala District Commissioner Jestus Sikazwe, commissioned the projects that includes a staff house at Chisenga Health Post in Lwandi Ward that was constructed at a cost of over K525,400.
ZANIS reports that other projects include a 1×2 classroom block at Chisenga Primary School valued at K346,000 and three staff houses at Kawimbe Health Post each costing over K368,000.
Mr Sikazwe said when he commissioned a staff house at Chisenga Health Post that the community projects in health and education sectors will help address infrastructure needs in the district.
The District Commissioner also revealed that the local authority is also undertaking infrastructure developments, including the rehabilitation of a 13 Kilometers stretch of the Kawimbe- Itokoto Road at a cost of K2.5 Million through the Zambia National Service.
He added that 4,191 school desks under the 2023 CDF allocation have also been delivered.
Mr Sikazwe has since commended President Hakainde Hichilema for increasing the 2025 CDF allocation from K30.6 million to K36.1 million per constituency, saying this would enable the local authority to undertake more social-economic projects.
And Mbala Mayor, Mulenga Sinyangwe, expressed happiness that Chisenga Primary School has 10 teachers compared to the two which the school previously had.
Meanwhile, Senior Chief Nsokolo, who was represented by Zombe Nsokolo thanked government for Constituency Development Fund projects.
