ZABS AWARDED WITH ECHO MARK SCHEME LICENSE

THE African Organization for Standardization (ARSO) and the Kenyan Accreditation Services (KENAS) has awarded The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) the certificate of Arso Eco Mark License.

During the certificate handover ceremony ZABS Executive Director Nathan Sing’ambwa says the certification is aimed at broadening the scopes of accreditation and maintaining the highest level of competence in conformity assessment in the country.

ZANIS reports that Mr Sing’ambwa said that ZABS has therefore reaffirmed its commitment to providing value to their clients.

He said this will enhance the competitiveness on the global stage and contribute to Zambia’s economic development.

“Together we are building systems that inspire confidence and foster trust in the products and  services that bear the mark of compliance,” Mr Sing’ambwa added.

And African Organization for Standardization (ARSO), Secretary General Hermogene Nsengimana has urged all Small and Medium enterprises to consider pursuing certification in order to enhance their brands reputation.

Dr. Nsengimana highlighted that certification strengthens consumer confidence, and can lead to better market positioning.

Meanwhile, Yatu Foods Chief Operations officer Feshi Chapotamo said that The benefits of certification will go far beyond meeting regulatory requirements.

Ms Chapotamo further explained that certification also enhances product and service quality, improves internal processes, and opens doors to international markets.

She highlighted that the moment is not just a milestone for Yatu Foods, but also a significant step for Zambian businesses striving to elevate their standards and expand into international markets.
