CHIEF Chamuka of the Lenje people of Chisamba District who is a Champion in the fight against Gender Based Violence (GBV) says 17 girls have dropped out of school because they have been married off.
The Traditional leader has since appealed to the provincial leadership to consider putting up a police station in the area and help curb the vice in the area.
Chief Chamuka was speaking in Kabwe when Central Province Minister Mwabashike Nkulukusa paid a courtesy call on him.
And Mr Nkulukusa says the Government is on the right track in the fight against child marriages.
He has, however, pointed out that a boy-child should also be included to strike a balance between the boys and girls in the fight against the vice.
