SPECIAL Assistant to the President for Special Duties William Banda has advised civil servants to be advocates of peace in their daily duties.

Mr. Banda says civil servants should avoid partisan politics as they ensure that they work and support the policies of the government of the day.

Speaking  when he addressed civil servants at Mununga Primary School in Lavushimanda yesterday,  he disclosed that the new dawn government is now focusing on development, which is crosscutting.

“If you came from Chipata, Sinda, Nkeyama, Mongu you must forget where you came from and focus on what you are here for in order to develop this area,” he said.

And Lavushimanda District Commissioner, Terris Kunda said his district is facing various challenges  such as lack of office space and transport.

Mr. Kunda  therefore  appealed for construction of offices and transport to the departments.

“We are pleased to mention that despite these challenges, the workers are able to deliver the services and we appeal to the Government to attend to the challenges being faced,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lavushimanda District Administrative Officer, Maurice Kabanda said that the District is able to spearhead government programs such as the Cash for work, Emergency Cash Transfer, Social Cash Transfer (SCT), Food Security Pack (FSP) and Farmer Input Support Program (FISP),  accordingly.
