NALOLO District Commissioner Namatama Mupo has described President Hakainde Hichilema as a God-given gift to Zambians.

Ms Mupo says Mr Hichilema has transformed the country and needs the support of every well-meaning Zambian.

She was speaking at her office during the Heads of Departments meeting on Monday.

Ms Mupo said the President has dedicated his time to serving the people of Zambia, as evidenced by the many empowerment initiatives he has introduced.

The District Commissioner has called on heads of departments to self-reflect and emulate the President.

“If we all became hard workers like the President, this country would have greatly developed,” she said.

Ms Mupo said civil servants should heed the President’s preaching about the timely delivery of quality services to the people.

She called on the heads of departments to develop a good attitude towards work, ensure they report on time and knock off at the right time.

Ms Mupo also called on people to utilize the empowerment programmes and the funds well.

“People have access to many social service programmes, it is only that some people do not want to follow the guidelines,” she noted.

In a related development, Ms Mupo called on the civil servants in the district to join the rest of the world in coming up with activities during the 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) which are observed from 25 November to 10 December annually.
