JOB SUMMIT COMING – TAMBATAMBA

GOVERNMENT has announced the holding of a National skills productivity and jobs summit to be held from December 3 to 4, 2024, at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.

Minister of Labour and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba said the summit under the theme:  bridging the skills employment and productivity gap, aims at linking job seekers to both local and international labour market.

Ms Tambatamba was speaking during a Press briefing in Lusaka today.

The Minister added that the Summit will also promote work-based learning and enhancing workforce skills to meet industry demands.

“The Summit will also enhance job opportunities for Youths and contribute to the development of the country,” she said.

She said the Summit is also in conformity with what government is trying to achieve in creating job opportunities for the youths.

Ms Tambatamba said the summit will be graced by President Hakainde Hichilema, among other prominent industrial leaders.

She noted that the Panel discussions will be focusing on skills development productivity, strategies and labour policies.

And Director of Productivity   at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Cyprian Mayamba said the main role of the ministry is to promote the culture of productivity.
