THE Rural Electrification Authority (REA) says it will soon embark on a project to connect government institutions in Luwingu District to the National electricity grid.
Luwingu District Commissioner Chomba Chileshe says the project is expected to be implemented at a cost of K19 million using funding from the central government.
Among the beneficiary institutions includes health centres, schools, local courts and the surrounding communities.
Stating that the project covers a stretch of about 28 kilometers radius, Mr. Chileshe was certain that the project will enable learners to acquire Information Communication technology (ICT) practical skills and improve their academic performance.
He has warned community members against vandalism and urged them to work together in developing the district and the nation at large.
