RUFUNSA District Commissioner Richard Mabena has expressed gratitude to cooperating partners that are supplementing Government efforts in enhancing health service delivery in the rural areas.
The District Commissioner said the government is committed to enhancing health service delivery in communities and appreciates the support it is receiving from cooperating partners.
Mr Mabena was speaking at Lukwipa Rural Health post where Good Neighbours a Non- Governmental Organization has handed over a rehabilitated clinic, assorted medical equipment and launched the outdoor malaria campaign
Mr. Mabena appealed to other cooperating partners to emulate Good neighbours Zambia that are helping the Government in fostering national development.
He said that the rehabilitated facility will not only provide a conducive environment for Health Service delivery but will also serve as a symbol of hope and resilience for the community members.
“It is through initiatives like these that together we can effectively address the health challenges and provide better opportunities for all,” said the District Commissioner.
Good Neighbours Zambia country Director Jaewoong Lee pledged to continue working with the Government to ensure that community members access quality health care.
Mr Lee said his Organisation will continue identifying more places in the District that need attention such as rehabilitation and medical equipment.
“I stand here today as a happy man to witness that the project has been a success,” said Mr Lee.
Mr.Lee also urged the community members to guard the infrastructure jealously and to be wary of malaria.
He said the outdoor spray against malaria will reduce deaths caused by malaria in the community.
And speaking on behalf of the community members, senior Head Woman Likwipa thanked the Government and Good Neighbours Zambia for ensuring that community members in rural areas attain meaningful development.
