NATIONAL Pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA) Director General, Muyangwa Muyangwa, says the authority is concerned about the deliberate misinformation by some sections of the media on key activities of the institution.
Mr Muyangwa said this is despite the authority’s ongoing efforts in easing accessibility and proactive action in providing useful information on key programs of the authority.
He was speaking virtually during a one day media workshop for media institutions in North-Western province held in Solwezi.
Mr Muyangwa said this is why the authority is engaging personnel from various media institutions so that the correct narrative around issues of social security are disseminated to the masses.
“Building a transparent institution is not possible without the media which serves as a vital conduit of communication with our stakeholders,” he said.
He explained that NAPSA considers the media as a crucial partner to their operations as they share an essential goal for ensuring social and economic wellbeing of citizens by keeping citizens adequately informed.
Mr Muyangwa has since urged the media in the region to take advantage of the information provided during the workshop to effectively communicate and shape positive public discourse around issues of social security.
