Vice President Mutale Nalumango has reaffirmed the government’s commitment in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Speaking in Kabompo today when she officiated at the Zambezi Corridor Environmental one Health 2024; CAPAH Expo and World AIDS Day, Mrs Nalumango noted that no one should be left out in fighting the HIV scourge.
She observed that the country has made significant strides in combating the disease adding that 95 percent of Zambians living with HIV know their status.
Mrs Nalumango said stigma and discrimination must not be condoned as the country envisions a situation where everyone can walk confidently regardless of status.
The Vice President also highlighted some measures the government has put in place in response to climate change.
Coalition for African Parliamentarians on Human, Animal Health and Environment CAPAH 2024 Ambrose Lufuma Chairperson who is also Defence Minister urged cooperating partners to partner with the government in combating climate change.
Northwestern Province Minister Robert Lihefu said the expo was a platform for dialogue which emphasized the need to safeguard health.
He called for concerted efforts in championing the cause for health and social justice for all in order to foster economic growth for the country.
