Zambezi Town Council has successfully procured a comprehensive set of earth moving equipment using funds from the 2023/24 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
In an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) today Zambezi Town Council, Public Relations Officer, Ronald Muyanga, stated that the equipment was procured specifically for the Zambezi East Constituency.
Mr Muyanga highlighted that the purchase of the five pieces of earth-moving equipment is aimed at improving the district’s road network.
He emphasised that having this equipment in-house will significantly reduce costs associated with renting machinery for road maintenance.
“It has been costly for the council to hire equipment every time we need to maintain our roads. Now that we have procured our own, we can address our road maintenance needs promptly and economically,” Mr Muyanga explained.
The newly acquired equipment, valued at K15,920,000, includes a tipper truck, water bowser, backhoe loader, roller compactor, excavator, and CAT grader.
