Kabompo DC cautions residents against resale of FRA Community Maize

Kabompo District Commissioner, Hubert Chinyanga, has strongly advised people against reselling and repackaging of maize being sold by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) under the community sales programme to mitigate hunger in the region.

Mr Chinyanga says the  government is committed to ensuring that no person is affected by hunger despite the prevailing climate change situation in the region.

He said this in Kabompo today when he addressed a group of farmers and community members, who visited his office to be granted authority to purchase maize for consumption under the FRA community sales programme.

He stressed that the government will not shield or spare anyone who will be found reselling or repackaging the FRA bags of Maize meant to alleviate the hunger situation.

The District Commissioner stated that the administration is aware of the people that are repacking and selling the maize which is meant for food security for the households in the district.

Mr Chinyanga further noted that the district had been applying for 600 bags batches at a time to ensure that no one is left behind as the maize was for every Zambian.
