THE Zambia Meteorological Department (ZMD) says Tropical Cyclone Chido has been downgraded to a low-pressure system.

According to the latest weather update released by ZMD, Tropical Cyclone Chido which has been downgraded to a low-pressure system is currently over Southern Malawi.

The satellite pictures shared by ZMD showed rapid developing of clouds, lighting, thunder and with the possibility of thundershowers in Southern Malawi

“Satellite pictures indicate that most areas are rapidly developing clouds with lightning/ thunder and possible thunderstorms,” read the statement.

By press time some areas over Southern Malawi were experiencing rainfall.
