LUSAKA City Council has taken a significant step towards addressing the city’s waste management issues with plans to collaborate with Afro-Russian Technology Development on innovative recycling solutions.
Speaking in an Interview with ZANIS, LCC Public Relations Officer Nyambe Bulumba says the authority plans to enhance recycling initiatives in Lusaka.
Mr Bulumba notes that this is to explore potential partnerships with Afro-Russian Technology Development, a company specialising in converting waste into organic fertilizer and electricity.
Afro-Russian Technology Development Chief Executive Officer and Founder Mikhail Mikhallov recently paid a courtesy call to the Lusaka Mayor to discuss potential collaboration opportunities.
Mr Bulumba highlighted that the company’s innovative approach to recycling aligns with the LCC goals.
“The partnership aims to leverage Afro-Russian Technology Development’s expertise in converting waste into valuable resources such as organic fertilizer and electricity,” he said.
He added that the initiative would not only reduce waste but also generate revenue and create employment opportunities.
Mr Bulumba assured that the council was committed to working with partners, such as Afro-Russian Technology Development, to achieve its waste management vision.
