THE Ministry of Labour and Social Security has reaffirmed its commitment to position productivity at the centre of economic transformation in the country.
Ministry of Labour and Social Security Permanent Secretary Zacharia Luhanga says government recognizes the importance of productivity in driving economic growth and competitiveness.
Mr Luhanga who was speaking in a speech read for him by Director for National Productivity Development Department, Cyprian Mayamba at the stakeholders consultative meeting on the draft 2023, Zambia productivity report today.
Mr Luhanga highlighted the need for stakeholders to work together to address productivity challenges that the country is facing.
And speaking at the same event, the Chief Productivity Measurement Officer, Jacqueline Chipuma, stated that the report is expected to provide valuable insights and recommendations for policymakers, businesses, in addition to other stakeholders to improve productivity alongside competitiveness.
Ms Chipuma also emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to promoting productivity.
“We must work together to address the challenges facing our productivity and create an environment that supports economic growth and competitiveness,” Ms Chipuma said.
