SOLWEZI CLERGY ADVISES ZAMBIANS DURING FESTIVE SEASON

A Clergy in Solwezi District has encouraged Zambians to conduct themselves in a Christian manner during the festive season.

St Alban Anglican Resident Priest Fr Richard Mubanga says the festive season is a time to reflect on Christianity values.

He told ZANIS in an interview that with Zambia being a Christian Nation, the Christmas period is a time to prepare for the Birth of Christ.

Fr Mubanga explains that this can be through engaging in activities that promote peace and unity as Christmas is a time to be merry and rejoice.

“Take time to read the bible to have a better understanding of Christmas and show love to one another just like Christ loves us all,” he said.

Fr Mubanga stated that festive season is not time to engage in negative vices such as alcohol and drug abuse.

“As we celebrate, let us understand what Christmas is all about and find the best way to celebrate the birthday of Christ in a Christian manner,” Fr Mubanga said.

He has urged youths to be responsible citizens during the festive period by not engaging in vices that society frowns upon.

“What you do during this period can have a negative impact on your future therefore celebrate wisely and in a decent manner,” he said.

Fr Mubanga has also encouraged Zambians to continue upholding peace and unity and take time to extend a helping hand to the less privileged people in society during this festive period.
