ZAMBIA Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) and Malawi Bureau of Standards have called for enhanced collaborations in order to promote compliance with mandatory standards and increase product acceptability in the region and beyond.
In a statement issued to ZANIS, Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) Executive Director, Gerald Chizinga says that the duo must work together to assist producers and traders to comply with mandatory standards.
He noted that the visit by Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) to Zambia, provides the two regulatory institutions with an opportunity to identify areas of possible collaboration.
He was speaking when a delegation from MBS met ZCSA officials at the Agency’s Head Office in Lusaka.
At the same meeting, MBS Director General Bernard Thole said the two institutions must work together to support trade through regulatory functions.
Dr Thole added that his organisation is looking forward to enhanced collaborations between the two institutions.
