ZAMBIA Air Force (ZAF) Commander Lieutenant General Oscar Nyoni has urged his officers to exhibit the highest level of financial discipline as they go about their daily life.
ZANIS reports that in a speech read on his behalf by ZAF North Western Provincial Commander Harrison Chishala at the 2024 Provincial Annual Ball, Lt. Gen Nyoni stated that if officers should borrow it should be for the right reason and at reasonable rates.
“If you have a reason to borrow, avoid loan sharks (Kaloba) and exploiting rates from some financial Institutions,” Lt. Gen Nyoni stated.
The commander added that professional and personal discipline is a non-negotiable matter for Officer Corps.
“Discipline is the backbone of our Air force, as leaders you are not only responsible for your actions, you are responsible for setting the standard for your subordinates on and off duty,” Lt Gen Nyoni reminded.
Lt. Gen Nyoni further cautioned the military personnel against the abuse of social media amidst the growing desire of content creation.
Furthermore, the Commander stated that the air force will continue with its constitutional mandate of defending and protecting the sovereignty of the Zambia air space.
Meanwhile, Mess Committee President Lt. Col. Moffat Mbuzi pledged the officers’ loyalty to the Government of the day.
Lt. Col. Mbuzi said their increase in numbers from the time they were established in the Province is testimony of the Command’s support towards the force in the region.
