The Declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation Committee has donated 40 baby hampers to mothers in 4 various hospitals and clinics in a bid to celebrate babies born on the covenant day that Zambia was declared a Christian Nation by the second Republican President, Frederick Chiluba.
Speaking during the handover of 6 baby hampers at Mtendere Health Centre, the committee Treasure, Bishop Evaristo Mulenga says as a nation, there’s need to realise the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation through practical ways of showing love as the committee has shown to the newly born babies.
ZANIS reports that the Committee Chairperson for Intercession Department, Betty Musonda shortly after the donation also stated that there is need for the generation that is born now to sustain the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation noting that the donation is a significant symbol as it is being done on the day that Zambia was declared a Christian nation 33 years ago.
Pastor Mulenga noted that the committee alongside the Vice President, Mutale Nalumango and others will be commemorating the day officially in the afternoon where thanksgiving prayers will also be offered as a remembrance for the nation’s 33 years of maturity as a Christian nation.
She disclosed that other health facilities that are being visited are Chawama hospital, Bauleni, Kanyama alongside Mtendere health centre
Meanwhile, Mtendere health centre Incharge, Daisy Muhanga is grateful to the committee for their gesture saying the facility is privileged to have benefited 6 hampers to babies that have since been dedicated to the Lord.
And speaking on behalf of the benefiting mothers, Roline Munachingu expressed gratitude to the committee for extending their love to their babies saying the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation should continue.
