Gwembe Town Council Secretary Maliwa Muchuu has died.

Gwembe District Commissioner Killion Chikandula confirmed Mr Muchuu’s death in a statement to ZANIS, saying the Council Secretary died in the early hours of yesterday at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH), after a short illness.

The District Commissioner expressed deep shock at the sudden loss of Mr Muchuu and has sent messages of condolences to the family, the Local Authority and the entire Gwembe Community.

“Cisi ca Gwembe cilalila, joko lyakosoka (Gwembe district is mourning the York has broken). We have lost a dedicated and hardworking young leader, may his Soul rest in eternal peace” he lamented.

Mr. Chikandula said the body of the late Mr Muchuu is laying in the UTH mortuary in Lusaka and will be put to rest on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 at Leopards Hill Memorial Park.
