Police in Mazabuka are investigating a case in which an 11-year-old girl of Kapona Compound is reported to have been defiled by an unknown man. 


Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka has reported that a 38-year-old woman of Kapona compound reported to Mazabuka Central Police Station on December 31st, 2024 that her 11-year-old daughter had been defiled by an unknown person the previous day. 

Daka said the brief facts are that “the young girl was looking after goats in a nearby bush at around 16:00 hours when an unknown male person came and told her to go and control the goats.”

He said “when she reached where the goats were, the said man dragged her down, undressed her and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.”

“The victim later went home and informed her mother who rushed her to the nearby Kaleya clinic where she was advised to report the matter to the Police.”

“Acting on the report, Police opened a docket of defilement .”

Daka said  no arrest has been made, but police are investigating the case.
