President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to participate in the virtual Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit Plus Mozambique on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
The summit, which is organised by Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, aims to address the post-election political and security situation in Mozambique.
This is according to a press statement made available to ZANIS by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mulambo Haimbe.
“The summit will bring together regional leaders to discuss the current state of affairs in Mozambique,” he said.
He added that the meeting will be preceded by virtual sessions of senior officials and the Organ Troika Ministerial Committee.
Mr Haimbe said Zambia’s participation in the summit demonstrates the country’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
He further added that Mr Hichilema’s attendance underscores Zambia’s dedication to collective efforts that advance regional stability and shared aspirations.
