GWEMBE TOWN COUNCIL PUT TO REST


The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, has pledged to support the family of the late Gwembe Town Council Secretary, Maliwa Muchuu.

Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Gary Nkombo said his contributions to the development of the country cannot go unnoticed.

ZANIS reports that speaking when he attended the funeral Service of the late Gwembe Town Council Secretary, Maliwa Muchuu, at Bread of Life Church, Mr Nkombo described the late as a young dedicated person and his death is a huge loss to the nation.

And Local Government Service Commission Vice Chairperson Brian Ndumba, disclosed that the late was a man of action, always pushing for excellence in the projects undertaken by the council.

Gwembe District Commissioner, Killian Chikandula, highlighted the late Gwembe Council Secretary’s tireless work ethic, selflessness and commitment to help develop Gwembe town.

“His legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire others to follow in his footsteps,” Mr Chikandula said.

Meanwhile, Mbita Muchuu, the wife said her late husband will be remembered as a person who never ceased to help people in need.

Mrs Muchuu, who was represented by Linda Simukoko, pledged to honour her late husband by instilling great values in the children he has left.

Children’s representative Mulenga Chikuka said they will miss their father and wished he stayed longer.

Mr Maliwa Muchuu 40, was born on July 5th, 1984 and died on January 1st, 2025 at the University Teaching Hospital after a short illness
