LUAMPA Member of Parliament Makozo Chikote has officially handed over a solar-water scheme at Lububa Rural Health Post in Luampa District, financed using the 2023 Constituency Developed Fund (CDF).
During the handover ceremony, Mr Chikote who also serves as Minister of Energy, emphasised that the water initiative aligns with the presidential directive aimed at ensuring access to piped water in all public facilities and the neighboring communities.
“The project is expected to significantly improve water accessibility for both the health post and local residents, enhancing overall public health and well-being in the area,” he said.
Luampa District Health Director, Kizito Muleya said the initiative marks a significant step forward in providing the community with reliable access to clean water.
The successful implementation of this project highlights the government’s commitment to ensuring that all individuals have access to quality water and sanitation services.
“The solar-water scheme will be instrumental in reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases, thereby enhancing the overall safety and health of the community,” Mr Muleya said.
Meanwhile, Luampa Town Council Director of Works, Misepolo Mabeti revealed that the project was funded through the 2023 constituency development fund with a total investment of K347,000.
Mr Mabeti said that the financial backing was a testament to the government’s commitment to improving water infrastructure in the area.
