LUSAKA Province has recorded a 100 percent delivery of inputs to farmers under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP).
Lusaka Province Principal Public Relations Officer, Logic Lukwanda, has disclosed to ZANIS that as of January 6, 2025, all the 59,188 farmers had received the inputs for the 2024-2025 farming season.
Mr Lukwanda adds that all the farmers across the six districts have deposited the funds and received the inputs.
And Mr Lukwanda has refuted reports suggesting that farmers are sharing inputs using smaller quantities due to insufficient supply as opposed to the prescribed 50-kilogram bag.
He has stressed that the reports should be dismissed with the necessary contempt they deserve.
Mr Lukwanda states that the Provincial Agriculture Officers have been on the ground and have not come across any such instance.
He has further reiterated the Provincial Agriculture Coordinator’s Office call to farmers to immediately plant early maturing maize seed.
