KAFUE DISTRICT LOSES 8 CROSSING POINTS AS DC CRIES FOR INTERVENTION 

FLASH floods have swept away two water Crossing points in the Chiawa Chiefdom of Kafue District.

The crossing points are the Lufeye crossing point in the Mugarameno area of the Chiawa ward and the Malabanyika bridge in the Chisakile ward.  

Kafue District Commissioner, Maurice Hikapulwe who inspected the damaged crossing points said the sad situation is preventing people from accessing social amenities like health services.

Mr. Hikapulwe has since urged the local authority and the District Disaster Management office for quick intervention.

He disclosed that that the two damaged water crossing points bring the total number of damaged bridges to 8 due to heavy rains and flash floods in Kafue District.

Kafue District is among the districts listed by the Zambia Meteorological Department expected to experience floods.
