MINISTER of Health Elijah Muchima has called on stakeholders to continue collaborating with the Ministry in ensuring that diagnostic services of patients are timely, correct and safe in all health facilities.

Dr Muchima has also urged health care providers to always diagnose patients to correctly identify the patient’s health problem.

He says that the Ministry of health remains committed to ensuring that all the health guidelines are observed by health care givers to secure the patients safety in all health facilities countrywide.

ZANIS reports that Dr Muchima said this in a speech read on his behalf by Chipata Level one Hospital Medical Superintendent Moses Mataa at the revised observance of World Patient Safety Day, which was commemorated under the theme ‘Improving Diagnosis for patients safety’.

He further encouraged health care givers to uphold professionalism and observe the principle of justice in health care which states that all patients should be treated equally and equitably.

Dr Muchima stated that treating patients equitably promotes better patients’ safety.

Meanwhile, Ngwerere Ward 22 Councilor Adrian Banda represented by Kapwepwe Zone 12 leader Arnold Kalipa commended the Ministry of Health’s determination to improve the safety of patients in health facilities.
