CHAMA MP IMPLORES RESIDENTS TO APPRECIATE GOVERNEMENT DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS

Chama North Constituency Member of Parliament Yotam Mtayachalo has implored the people of Ng’ango to acknowledge government’s massive development it has initiated in the area.

Mr Mtayachalo was speaking during an engagement with the community in Ng’ango village in Kalinhku ward in Chama North Constituency of Chama district.

The area MP emphasised that the government has initiated a number of development projects visible to all which the community needed to acknowledge adding that such projects have never happened before.

Mr Mtayachalo stated further that the government was committed to improving the livelihoods of its people through initiatives such as cash for work programmes, Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

“As the community sit together and select a project that will be a priority and that will benefit everyone in the community, because many times you leave the Ward Development Committee (WDC) submitting a project to the local authority that you are not even aware of and in the end, you start blaming government”. He advised.

Meanwhile, Chama North Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Vice Chairperson Frackson Chipeta who spoke during the community meeting encouraged the community members to apply for various empowerment programmes under CDF.

Bishop Chipeta also said there was need for the construction of a maternity annex in the area citing the long-distance expectant mothers were covering in accessing maternal health services.

He also thanked the government for the construction of a 1×2 classroom block in the area noting that it was a significant achievement since the country attained independence.
